Aside from steak, our kind of food to go to is Japanese. Tired of having the same meal over and over again? Tired and bored of your work, why not have some break? These Ramadan days where we got shorter working hours it is nice to devour in a good food during Iftar. Iftar means breaking the fast. During these days, all people are not allowed to eat and drink in public for 1 month.
So we decided to try Sushi Central in Al Mina Road. Hubby already went here once, so we decided to try it since it is “Ladies Night”. This offer is only valid during 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. All Ala Carte menu is buy 1 take 1, yes for real! This deal is valid if you are eating solo, couples, and friends as long as you have one girl/ladies friend with you. They will also offer you unlimited ice tea refill as long as you buy their home made ice tea. Is it already a deal right?
So hubby was the one who ordered our food since it is my first time, and I only heard of maki and sushi and sashimi before. So we ordered the famous shrimp tempura. This dish is famous in Japanese fusion. It is loved by many. The tempura batter that they put in the shrimps tasted great, it was crispy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside. This tempura also comes with a special sauce prepared by the chefs.
We also ordered the Sashimi salad which includes lettuce, different kinds of seafood like shrimp, tuna and salmon topped with bread crumbs, salmon egg and special sauce to compliment the salad. I really wonder how this food was brought to life. The salad itself is enough for one sitting just because I’m not a big eater anymore. I had a hard time finishing mine because they put too much meat in my salad, they should at least a generous amount only.
Last in our table was the maki platter. Men, I was in a food coma, imagine buying 6 pieces of sushi you will be entitled to have another 6 so that’s 12 in total. Hubby finished his sushi but I gave up, I only finished 5 out of the 6 pieces.
Total bill was DHS 159.00 for two people with 12 pieces of maki, two bowls of sashimi salad, ten pieces of shrimp tempura, an iced tea with an unlimited refill, and a ginger and lemon tea. But as of this moment, I’m already craving for their maki salad.
Overall we are amazed how Japanese put all their food together. Let me tell you, this cuisine is not for those people who don’t love raw, as they will be serving raw food. Also, please note that a prior reservation is needed due to the high demand of the restaurant.
Other offers include:
Tuesday: It is for Airline Crews, which means Etihad crews can enjoy 50% when dining in.
Wednesday: Ladies Night, which is the one we availed.
They also offer Sushi Master Class, you will enjoy how to do three different kinds of sushi which cost DHS 175.00, pretty cheap.
